My Dad Always Wanted to Know the Different Types of Tuna

Venice la tuna fishing charters

Last week, I went on a business trip to the great great state of Mississippi. I am definitely not the kind of guy who is all work and no play, which is I wanted to discover all the different types of tuna in the Mississippi River for myself.

So, naturally, I went tuna fishing in the Mississippi River on one of the affordable tuna fishing charters down there.

I always loved going fishing, ever since I was a kid back when my Dad would take me. Just you and peacefulness of nature. Getting time to collect your thoughts and hear yourself think as you kick back and have a couple brews while fishing for tuna.

Perhaps I might have been a bit cocky when I said I wanted to discover all the different types of tuna in the Mississippi River for myself. I really was not that great at fishing, but I just loved it. It was a way of remembering my Dad by, since he always loved the different types of tuna in the mississippi river.

I expected to catch one, maybe two small guys and throw them back. However, what I caught were these huge mommas that I had no idea I was capable of getting. And the best part? The guys who ran the charter helped me fish and I landed about half a dozen different types of tuna in the Mississippi River.

So if you have the time and want to get back in touch with nature and your more primal side, but still want to relax, I would definitely suggest you go fishing.

What are you experiences with the different types of tuna in the Mississippi River? Do you feel a calling to go discover what they are? Why or why not? Leave your thoughts in the comments! More like this.

  1. Isnt over fishing a huge problem for the mississippi? If you love the area so much then you should avoid fishing there at all costs why not.
